Kevin Bruyneel received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the New School for Social Research in 2001, and has been at Babson College since the Fall 2001. He teaches and writes about American Politics and Political Theory. His book, The Third Space of Sovereignty: The Postcolonial Politics of U.S.-Indigenous Relations came out in Fall 2007, published by the University of Minnesota Press, Indigenous Americas Series. In 2008, Bruyneel published a chapter in the edited collection Race and American Political Development (Routledge, 2008), edited by Joe Lowndes, Julie Novkov, and Dorian Warren. For his next project, Bruyneel is looking to explore questions of race, gender and national memory in the United States, Canada, and Australia. Along with teaching History and Society foundations classes and intermediate classes on American Politics and Political Thought, Professor Bruyneel teaches advanced courses on Native American Politics, the American Presidency, and Justice, Revenge and Defeat. Professor Bruyneel will be on sabbatical for the 2009-10 academic year.
