• February, 2009, Babson Wins first place! As faculty advisor, Professor Ryan Davies  lead a team of Babson undergraduate students, and won the Rotman International Trading Competition held the weekend of (Feb 19-21) at the University of Toronto. The team members were seniors Howard Soyfer, Gilbert Li, Serge Suchkov, and junior Eric Drozdov. The Babson team placed ahead of teams representing 38 top colleges and universities from around the world. The first place cash prize was $4,000. More>>

• October 2008: Babson undergraduate team places second in the fourth annual Texas A&M F/X competition, and Babson undergraduate student Eric Drozduv came fifth overall in individual competition. The foreign exchange trading competition ran online from October 1st to 31st, and involved almost 300 students.  The  Babson team included: Matthew Acosta, Shueb Ahmed, Kari Dean, Eric Drozdov, Michael Hudecheck, Gilbert Li, Thomas Klein, Ross Klein, Howard Soyfer, and Sergey Suchkov.
  
  
• September, 2008: Professor Michael Goldstein was awarded The Babson College Faculty Scholarship Award  in grateful appreciation of significant contibutions and achievements in scholarly research.
  
  
• March 20, 2008: Good news! The Finance Division ranked 6th overall in the recent “Specialty Rankings” of undergraduate business schools of BusinessWeek. Students were asked to rank their schools on eleven different specialties, and these student-generated rankings were compared across all of the schools in the survey. • February 26, 2008: a team of Babson College Fund managers captured first place in the New England Investment Research Challenge sponsored by the Boston Security Analysts Society. This is the second consecutive year that the Babson College team of investment analysts took the top honors in the BSAS competition. More>>
  
  
• February 21-23, 2008: Babson team finishes among prize winners at Rotman International Trading Competition. The competition, hosted by the University of Toronto, uses open outcry and electronic trading cases which closely mimic real-world markets. The Babson team competed against teams from 34 universities and colleges from around the world. The team placed in 7th place and won a cash prize of $800. The team was composed of undergrad junior Howard Soyfer, and MBA students Noj Zachariah, Jeff Liguori, and David Peltier. The team was advised by finance professor Ryan Davies.  More>>

• February 12-17, 2008: Babson team competes at Marshall International Case Competition. Babson participates for the first time in this prestigious case competition, hosted by the University of Southern California, against teams from 30 top international business schools. The Babson team included undergrad seniors: Liz Allen, Olga Brik, Suzanne Cover, and Barry Chen. The team was advised by finance professor Ryan Davies.  More>>
  
  
• November 2007: Babson Professor Jennifer Bethel was promoted to full Professor.
  
  
• November 2007: Babson Professors Gang Hu and Jennifer Bethel and Georgia Tech Progessor Qinghai Wang received a grant from Yale University’s Millstein Center for Corporate Governance and Performance for their work in mergers and acquisitions.
  
  
• November 14-18, 2007: Babson team wins finalist award at McCombs International Business Challenge. For the second year in a row, Babson team wins an award at this intense five day case competition at the University of Texas at Austin. Twenty top international business schools competed in the competition. Babson was represented by undergrad seniors: Mayra Roa, Olga Brik, Liz Allen, and Suzanne Cover. • October 12, 2007: Babson team participates in Travelers Finance Case Competition in Hartford, CT. The Babson team, coached by finance professor Ryan Davies, was composed of six undergraduate students: Barry Chen, Shueb Ahmed, Edward Chiu, David Brenner, Kari Dean, Sandra Popaja.

• October 20, 2006:Professor Michael Goldstein appeared on the national PBS telecast of The News Hour with Jim Leher. Dr. Goldstein spoke on the Dow hitting 12,000 and the economy in general.

• Babson College Professor of Finance Michael Goldstein  was appointed chair of NASDAQ’s Economic Advisory Board for 2005. The primary function of the Economic Advisory Board (EAB) is to provide advice and guidance to the Board of Directors of NASDAQ on issues relating to market structure.
