Welcome to the Marketing Division at Babson College

The Marketing Division, through its educational, research, and outreach programs, is committed to providing the College's undergraduate and graduate students, executive-education program participants, and the larger professional community state-of-the-art marketing education that not only is of a high standard but also is integrative and entrepreneurial in its orientation and relevant in its practical impact. The Division's goal is to enhance significantly the ability of students, executives, and the larger business community to market products and services innovatively, especially in contexts that are distinguished by their entrepreneurial, global, technological, and/or retailing settings.

The Marketing Division actively participates in Babson's curriculum innovation and integrative educational programs, and the Division's faculty-members are continuously developing and delivering new curricula to meet the needs of an ever-changing business environment. Courses emerging from these efforts include:

  • Marketing for Entrepreneurs
  • Global Marketing Strategy
  • Marketing High-Tech Products
  • Direct Marketing and e-Commerce
  • Retailing Management

The Division's faculty is also involved in the College's Management Consulting Field Experience, MBA Mentor, Honors, Intel Distance Learning, and various executive educational programs. Furthermore, the marketing faculty and the Center for Career Development actively encourage, support, and guide the undergraduate and graduate students through their career options with major domestic and global firms.

The Marketing Division faculty are engaged in a wide variety of endeavors focusing on knowledge creation and dissemination. These include:

  • teaching students to become better entrepreneurs and managers
  • bringing state-of-the-art technologies and concepts to the classroom
  • discussing contemporary business problems with senior managers in major global companies
  • helping budding entrepreneurs in emerging economies learn the latest business practices
  • authoring field-based case studies and books
  • publishing in and editing submissions to scholarly journals

Articles authored by the Division's faculty have appeared in highly regarded journals such as Journal of Marketing, Marketing Science, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Retailing, and Sloan Management Review. The Division's faculty-members have also authored widely adopted college textbooks in areas including retailing and global marketing management. Currently, the Marketing Division at Babson College houses the editorial office of the Journal of Retailing (babson.edu/jr), and is co-edited by two of the division's faculty.
