Student Finance Organizations

Student Finance Organizations provide Babson College students interested in Finance with the opportunity to expand and deepen their knowledge of the finance world. These organizations often host speaker visits, workshops, and conferences.

Babson Investment Management Association

The Babson Investment Management Association (BIMA) provides educational and networking opportunities for Babson students interested in pursuing careers in the investment industry. BIMA offers periodic educational seminars conducted by professors, alumni and professionals working in the investment community.

Babson Real Estate Association

The Babson Real Estate Association (BREA) works to create a strong network of individuals who are passionate about real estate investment, and to support students interested in pursuing real estate as a career. The Association hosts forums, case competitions, mock interviews, company and industry information sessions, lectures, and alumni networking events.

Babson Investment Banking Association

The Babson Investment Banking Association’s (BIBA) mission is to enhance the position of Babson as a top business school for investment banking by increasing the interest of students in this field, supporting students in their preparation for the recruiting process, and improving relations with firms through the Babson Alumni Network. The association hosts educational events, workshops, a peer mentoring program, and social networking events. BIBA hosts an impressive annual Babson Investment Banking Conference at the start of each academic year; former speakers have included Brian Moynihan, Chairman and CEO of Bank of America and Lloyd Blankfein, Chairman and CEO, Goldman Sachs.

Babson Investment Club

The Babson Investment Club (BIC) is an organization devoted to teaching its members about different investment tools and finance career paths. It utilizes a competition system where rival "funds" run by Marketing Directors (MDs) attempt to get the best returns.

Babson Venture Capital Private Equity Club

The Babson Venture Capital Private Equity Club (VCPE Club) is dedicated to educating and building a knowledge base within the Babson Community of the Venture Capital and Private Equity space. The student organization's interests include all types of financing from angels to venture capital to private equity funds, spanning early-stage, growth and buyout phases. The club hosts speakers and competes against other top schools in the Venture Capital Investment Competition.

Moneythink - Babson College Chapter

Moneythink is a nationally-recognized organization providing cutting-edge financial education to low-income, urban teens in high school. Highly talented college mentors serve as near-peer role models, mentors, and financial coaches.

Rotman International Trading Competition

Babson sends a team of four undergraduate and/or graduate students to compete at the Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) held annually at the University of Toronto. Cases include algorithmic trading, commodities, institutional sales and trading, quant outcry, and credit risk. Babson has been very successful at this competition, finishing 2nd in 2007, 7th in 2008, 1st in 2009, and 2nd in 2010, against teams representing more than 50 top universities. Professor Davies hosts a complimentary Babson Trading Competition every fall which draws dozens of students from Babson College, Olin College and Wellesley College. The competition involved multiple sub-heats of three Rotman Interactive Trader cases. The scoring methodology was designed to reward consistent performance over each of the sub-heats.
