Global Healthcare Entrepreneurship Summit
This first of its kind one-day event on May 7, 2015 centered around several of the teaching cases developed by Babson College for the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery highlighting the role of entrepreneurship in this growing space. Faculty from Harvard and Babson led participants through case discussions to review best practices for improving access to and quality of surgical care worldwide, and discussed how to develop sustainable systems for low-resource countries. Participants also explored further applications for the case series as a tool for training of surgeons and healthcare managers involved in Global Surgery.
A recording of the summit is available here.
The Leonard Schlesinger Fund for Global Healthcare Entrepreneurship at Babson College was founded with a commitment to global health and desire to explore the ways in which Babson’s methodology of Entrepreneurial Thought and Action® can benefit the field. In 2014, Babson partnered with the Lancet Commission to create a case series designed to help transform Global Surgery into a field of study and practice.
