The Lewis Institute’s Youth Entrepreneurial Programs has developed our E-STEAM curriculum which links Babson’s Entrepreneurial Thought and Action® (ET&A™) methodology with STEM education to cultivate a future generation of economic and technological leaders.
ET&A™ + STEAM = E-STEAM
STEM concentrations focus on the linkages between s
ngineering, and m
athematics. In recent years, many have come to realize that when a
rt and design come into this equation, young people are better equipped to think both critically and creatively about applying STEM. What Babson has done is put e
ntrepreneurial thinking at the beginning of this equation, arming students with the mindset and skills to develop solutions to real-world problems.
The E-STEAM curriculum serves as a toolkit for navigating uncertainty and creating opportunities that transcend traditional business ventures. Students look inward to define themselves and connect their passions to opportunities in their communities. Defined objectives within each lesson are directly connected to Common Core standards for High School and Middle School students.
As a result of creating this E-STEAM curriculum, Babson was recognized as one of the “Top 100 Commitments To Action” by The White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics in 2015. Learn more and read the full press release.
