In the fall of 2003, a new faculty division consisting of 15 full and part time professors was formed and called the Information Technology Management Division. The formation of this division acknowledges the importance of information technology in business and management education. In the fall of 2005, an additional 9 full time Operations faculty joined the division and it became the Technology, Operations and Information Management Division. There are now over 30 full and part time faculty in the TOIM Division.
MARTY ANDERSON speaks to more than 30 audiences around the world including executive, not-for-profit and government groups. His speech is entitled "Three Facts That are Changing Our World Forever." Marty received the graduate Thomas Kennedy Award for Teaching Excellence at Babson's Commencement of 2006.
TOM DAVENPORT was awarded a 2008 Faculty Scholarship Award for his Competing on Analytics Research. In July of 2008, he and Laurence Prusak keynoted a two-day forum, Learning to Manage with Knowledge, at the United Nations Headquarters.
Tom along with Bala Iyer are the authors of “Reverse Engineering Google’s Innovation Machine,” selected as the lead article in the April ’08 publication of Harvard Business Review.
He has been ranked again among the Top 100 Most Influential People in IT by eWEEK and sister publications CIO Insight and Baseline.
Tom is the founder and academic director of Working Knowledge, Process Management and Innovation and Corporate Entrepreneurship Research Centers at Babson. STEVE GORDON became the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Information Technology Case and Application Research, JITCAR.
PJ GUINAN's article, entitled "The Secrets of Marketing in a Web 2.0 World" co-authored with Sal Parise and Bruce Weinberg can be seen in the December 15, 2008 edition of the Wall Street Journal.
PJ coached a special workshop for some 80 Year Up staff and students to boost their business relationship and networking skills. Year Up is a non-profit that helps urban young adults, ages 18-24, reach their professional potential.
PJ received the Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence at Babson Executive Education in 2006. She received 2 corporate grants; one from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and one from McGraw-Hill Cos., Inc to provide seed funding for an e-commerce research center at Babson.
SINAN ERZURUMLU joined the TOIM Division in fall of 2007. He teaches at both the graduate and undergraduate level, with an emphasis on supply chain management and operations management. Sinan received his PhD from Mccombs School of Business at the University of Texas in Austin where he received the Dean's Fellowship in the Dept. of Information, Risk and Operations Management for 2005-2006.
SEBASTIAN FIXSON joined TOIM in the fall of 2007. He teaches operations management and product development to undergraduate and graduate students. He has taught at MIT Sloan School of Management, Univ. of Michigan's College of Engineering, and Northeastern's University School of Technological Entrepreneurship.
Professor Fixson teaches the graduate Product Design and Development Course. The fair is held at the beginning of December each year.
BALA IYER along with Tom Davenport wrote the lead article "Reversing Engineering Google's Innovation Machine" in the April 2008 issue of the Harvard Business Review.
In 2007, Bala received the Glavin Center for Global Management Fellowship and the Society for Information Management Advanced Practice Council Fellowship.
PAUL MULLIGAN received the 2008 Award for Teaching Excellence from Babson Executive Education. He was named one of seven Babson College Blended Learning Fellows based upon teaching excellence in 2006.

His article entitled "Business Insight (A Special Report); Together We Innovate: How can companies come up with new ideas? By getting employees working with one another" co-authored with Rob Cross, Andrew Hargadon and Robert Thomas appears in the September 15, 2007 edition of the Wall Street Journal.
DONNA STODDARD was featured at the 2008 National Women’s Business Research Symposium in Washington, D.C.—Research to Roadmap: Accelerating the Growth and Success of Businesses Owned by Women-of-Color. Hundreds of attendees had the opportunity to hear about the multiyear, national research effort which has engaged women of color entrepreneurs in a dialog about factors preventing them from growing their businesses and the actions needed to meet and overcome those barriers. GANESAN SHANKARANARAYANAN (SHANKAR) recently joined TOIM in the fall of 2009. He received his PhD in Management Information Systems from the Univ. of Arizona, Eller School of Management and has taught several courses ranging from introductory courses in information systems to advances courses in data management and systems design. He received the Computer World Lalureate honor from the Computer World Honors Program in 2008.
