Sinan Erzurumlu received his Ph.D. in Supply Chain and Operations Management from McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. His research and teaching is concerned with technology management, supply chain management and sustainability. He teaches operations management courses to undergraduate and graduate students. He also offers an elective course on environmental management and sustainability.
His recent research focus is on collaborative product and technology development, product lifecycle management and distribution channel management. Specifically, he explores the role of collaborative and competitive interactions among firms in product development and in determining the distribution channels of innovative durable products. He examines how firms make their product design and commercialization decisions to gain a position of competitive advantage that will lead to superior operational and financial performance. He also studies the lifecycle dynamics for portfolios with durable goods and consumables to evaluate the economic cost and the environmental impact of a product.
