Professor Ellis has won academic awards and prizes for work in Case Research and in Corporate Entrepreneurship. His book on Strategic Management was reviewed by the Academy of Management as of potentially classic significance. He has been cited seminally for his work on Corporate Entrepreneurship and collaborated in originating a technique now known as Business Impact Projects that has been adopted by major corporations worldwide. Dr. Ellis was probably the first to research study scenario business planning. Serving on the board of the Society of Competitive intelligence Professionals for six years he helped develop the field including the launch of The Competitive Intelligence Review within John Wiley.

 

Dr. Ellis has authored approximately one hundred publications of all sorts including work in the Sloan Management Review, International Review of Strategic Management, Case Research Journal, Journal of Financial Planning, Competitive Intelligence Review, Journal of Strategic Change, and the International Journal of Physical Distribution. Research results have been presented at conferences in many countries and frequent keynote addresses have been delivered in the Americas and in Europe on Corporate Entrepreneurship, Competitive Intelligence, and Scenario Learning.

 

Professor Ellis is a tenured professor at Babson College where he has occupied the Sorenson Professorial Term Chair, directed the One-Year MBA of the F.W. Olin Graduate School, headed the Strategic Management field, directed many programs for the Babson School of Executive Education, and held a joint appointment with Arthur D. Little. Innovations include the first integrated MBA modules, first course on Corporate Entrepreneurship, first academic use of professional consulting techniques, and others. Jeff has led and coached teams of faculty in the design and delivery of several integrated graduate and executive programs. Special educational assignments have involved work in Chile, Brazil, Russia, United Kingdom, India, Ireland, Finland, Denmark, Canada, and elsewhere. His education includes degree and post graduate work at Nottingham, Salford, Warwick, and Cranfield Universities in England, INSEAD in France, and Harvard Graduate School of Business in the USA, among others. 

 

Jeff Ellis has worked with many Fortune 100 corporations globally and some smaller businesses as educator, consultant and researcher, He has led the design and delivery of custom executive programs for more than thirty clients all over the world including, for example: SAP, Germany; John Hancock Insurance, USA; Stentor (the consortium of Canada’s provincial telephone companies,) Canada; St. Lawrence Cement, Canada; Cable and Wireless, United Kingdom; Department of Trade and Industry, United Kingdom; Digital Equipment Corporation, USA; Allied Domecq, United Kingdom; Bongrain, France; and Daimler Chrysler worldwide. Additionally, Jeff has supervised more than fifty consulting projects of various kinds for clients that include Xerox, Booz Allen Hamilton, Sovereign Bank, and Arthur D. Little. Specialized educational sessions also have been designed and delivered for many companies and institutions such as IBM, Astra Zeneca, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and SKF.
