Mr. Alper has been a part-time lecturer in entrepreneurship at Babson College since 1997 and has significant business experience. After working in Venezuela and Argentina for supermarket chains from 1967-1970, he joined Morris Alper, Inc., a food brokerage firm, where he served as President from 1972-1990 and as Chairman from 1990-1994. He also served as Chairman of Benchmark Sales & Marketing, Inc., from 1994-1998.

Mr. Alper is an angel investor, is a consultant/advisor to family businesses and entrepreneurial companies involved with consumer products, and also has extensive experience with non-profits. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the National Food Brokers Association, a member of the Board of Trustees at Brown University, and a member of the Board of Trustees for the Center for Collaborative Education in Boston. He currently serves on the Corporation at Brown University.

He sits on the Board of Directors for Benchmark Sales and Marketing, Inc., Kettle Cuisine, Inc., King Arthur Flour Company, Inc., Foodshouldtastegood Inc, The Rustic crust, Inc. and on the Board of Advisors for Olivio Premium Products , Country Hen Organic Eggs, and Perkins Paper Company. Mr. Alper previously sat on the Boards of Ethnic Gourmet, KaBloom, Inc., Deloitte and Touche (Consumer and Retail Consulting Group), and Noah's Bagels.

In addition to his teaching experience at Babson, Mr. Alper has taught in the Denali Initiative (Kauffman Foundation) teaching entrepreneurship to managers of non-profits. He has also taught corporate entrepreneurship in Central America. Mr. Alper has taught courses through the National Food Brokers Association, American Management Association, and for the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) for inner-city youth.
