Dr. Moland's research interests combine the history of philosophy with current moral and political theory. She has published articles on Kant, Hegel, and contemporary ethics. Her publications include articles in History of Philosophy Quarterly, the Owl of Minerva, and the History of Political Thought. During the 2005-2006 academic year, she held fellowships at the American Academy in Berlin and the Liguria Study Center in Bogliasco, Italy, and was a guest at the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna. Currently, she is writing a book that uses the history of the term patriotism to illuminate Hegel's political thought and to contribute to our understanding of patriotism in modern ethical life. At Babson, Dr. Moland teaches a foundation-level course entitled "Out of Eden: Nature, Culture, Progress", an intermediate course in ethics, and advanced courses in contemporary ethics and social-political philosophy. Before coming to Babson, she taught at Boston University, Suffolk University and Tufts University.
