Professor Williams currently teaches undergraduate and graduate courses and was former chair of the Accounting & Law Division at Babson College. Previously, she taught at Boston University, where she received three teaching awards, and at Texas A&M University. She has taught undergraduate courses, and graduate courses at both master's and doctoral levels. She is also involved in education programs for practitioners in association with the Boston Security Analyst Society.
Dr. Williams' research has included work in the cognitive aspects of auditor decision-making and in examinations of the audit committee as a mechanism for monitoring corporate management. Her most recent research interests include financial disclosure and financial analysis, areas in which she has done private consulting and litigation support.
