Henry August Kriebel

Biographical

Henry Kriebel was born in Warren, PA on February 11, 1909.  He earned his B.S. at Lehigh University (1932) and his Ph.D. from Columbia University (1951).  He was an Instructor at Cedar Crest College from 1932-1937 and taught at Lehigh University from 1939-1942.  After service in the USNR he joined the faculty at Babson in 1946.  He was Dean of Faculty from 1957 until he was named to replace the recently deceased Gordon Trim as President of the Institute in 1961. He retired from Babson College in 1974.He died May 6, 1999.

Babson Years

The Master Plan is adopted.

The three year BSBA is changed to a four year program with an unrestricted BS with a new 40-40-20 curriculum.

Babson Institute becomes Babson College.  Babson begins to admit women to all of its programs.

Faculty doubled in size.

Three new residence halls (Keith, Canfield, and McCullough Halls) and three new academic buildings (Gerber, Kriebel, and Babson Halls) along with Humphries Plaza were built.

The School for Continuing Education is founded.
