George William Coleman
President of Babson Institute 1921-1935

Biographical
Born in Boston, June 16, 1867. Coleman earned the Franklin Medal at Boston English High School (1885). Honorary degrees include A. M. from Colby College (1911) and LL.D. from Wake Forest University (1922). Published the Christian Endeavor World through 1910. Member of the Boston City Council, 1914-1917, acting President of the Council 1915. President of the Sagamore Beach Conferences 1907-1917. Founder of the Ford Hall Forum, 1908. President of Associated Advertising Clubs of America, 1911-1913. Died July 31, 1950.

1921/2, 1922/3 years met at the Washington Street building.
Lyon Farm and other properties purchased to form the basis of the new campus.
Lyon Hall (now Luksic Hall), Bryant Hall, Richard Knight Auditorium, the Administration Building (now Mustard Hall), Coleman Map Building (now Coleman Hall), the Babson Park Clubhouse (now Park Manor South), Peavey Gym, Park Manor (now Park Manor Central), and Westgate were built for the Institute. Publisher’s Hall, Post Office, and Hollister were built for other purposes and later acquired for the school.
