8/12/08 - SkiBabson Names Clayton Reed New Head Alpine Ski Coach The Babson College Athletics Department has named Clayton Reed (New Haven, Vt.) its new head coach of men's and women's alpine skiing, Director of Athletics Josh MacArthur recently announced. Reed takes over after the departure of longtime coach Joe Harty. Reed recently graduated from Middlebury College, where he majored in Economics and minored in Environmental Studies. As a member of the Panthers' varsity ski team, he was named First Team All-East in 2005 and Second Team All-East in 2006. He also competed at the NCAA Championships in three straight seasons between 2005 and 2007. In addition to his competitive success, Reed has served as a coach and mentor at the Sugarbush Ski Club in Vermont and as a coach at the Win Alpine Summer Ski Camp in Mount Hood, Oregon. [+]
8/6/08 - General ReleaseBabson Announces Five Honorees for 2009 Hall of Fame Induction The Babson College Athletics Department has announced that five new members will be inducted into its prestigious Hall of Fame next spring. Entering the Hall will be longtime baseball coach and administrator Frank Millerick, baseball great David DiGangi '94, soccer stars Jim Fischer '82 and Dan Pucci '98, and hockey standout Jim Creamer '90. The College's 12th dinner and induction ceremony will take place on Friday, April 17, 2009 to kick off a weekend Athletics celebration. [+]
8/6/08 - General ReleaseStefanie DeSimone Named Program Manager of the Babson Skating Center The Babson College Athletics Department has announced that Stefanie DeSimone will join the staff as the Program Manager of the Babson Skating Center. In this role, she will oversee the Babson Skating School as well as the College's extensive intramural program. DeSimone comes to Babson after serving as the Skating Director for the Bay State Blades program at both the Chelmsford Forum and the Burlington Ice Palace from 2006 to 2008.
