The Gem 2007 Report on Women and Entrepreneurship
The GEM Report on Women and Entrepreneurship provides an in-depth global look at women's entrepreneurship and highlights the important role that women play in developing and developed economies. Directed by The Center for Women’s Leadership, Babson College; and the Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship, Baruch College, The GEM 2007 Report on Women and Entrepreneurship is authored by Elaine I. Allen, Research Director, the Arthur M. Blank Center for Entrepreneurship, Babson College; Nan Langowitz, Associate Professor, Management and Entrepreneurship, and Founder, Center for Women’s Leadership, Babson College; Amanda Elan, Visiting Scholar, the Arthur M. Blank Center for Entrepreneurship, Babson College; and Monica Rivera Dean, Administrative Director, the Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship, Baruch College. A formal launch of GEM 2007 Report on Women and Entrepreneurship will be held in New York City, Friday, May 2, 2008; at 9 a.m. during the full-day symposium for thought leaders, Growing Sustainable Businesses: Best Practices for Women Entrepreneurs sponsored by Ernst & Young, 5 Times Square NY, NY.
The Top Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts: 2006 Results The Center for Women’s Leadership at Babson College and The Commonwealth Institute have released the findings from The Top Woman-Led Businesses in Massachusetts: 2006 Results. This ongoing study, led by Babson faculty members Nan Langowitz and I. Elaine Allen, distinguishes the state’s top woman-led enterprises, illuminating the significant impact that women-led businesses continue to have on our economy. More on the report >> |

I think my awareness of women’s leadership began right here at Babson. I always knew, in the back of my mind, that there were certain challenges, but I was never forced to look at them, think about them, deal with them, and choose how I was really going to respond to them until I came to Babson.
