A longtime entrepreneur with a commitment to developing quality educational products, Addie founded BrightIdeas in 1992, which sold children’s learning software to parents and teachers. BrightIdeas was acquired by Addison Wesley in 1996.

Marilda’s inspiring keynote speech focused on her leadership journey which began as a child in Cuba and brought her to the role she is in today as the leader of Aetna’s Foundation. As president, she represents Aetna to the public on corporate citizenship issues and is liaison to private, nonprofit and public service organizations that work to improve the lives of people in the community. | Rhonda Kallman Founder & CEO, New Century Brewing Co. The Center for Women’s Leadership at Babson College welcomed Rhonda Kallman, founder & CEO of New Century Brewing Company, as the closing keynote speaker at the 8th Annual Women’s Leadership Conference on Saturday, October 15, 2005. Rhonda is a beer-industry veteran with over 20 years of sales, marketing and distribution expertise. She co-founded The Boston Beer Company, makers of Samuel Adams, in 1984. Over her 15-year tenure as founding partner and executive vice president of sales and brand development, she built the most admired and best trained sales force in the highly competitive beer industry. Having personally opened the door for women in the beer business, she continued to pave the way and made an ongoing commitment to women by recruiting and promoting them. In 1990, the Institute for Brewing Studies honored her with its Recognition Award for being the “Pioneering Woman in the Beer Industry.” INC. magazine selected Rhonda as one of “25 Entrepreneurs We Love (and what makes them great)” along with business luminaries like Jeff Bezos, Steve Jobs, Betsey Johnson, Russell Simmons and 20 others.  |
| Kim Goodman Vice President of Marketing for Dell Kim Goodman serves as vice president of marketing for Dell Inc. In this role, she is responsible for leading the marketing organizations that address the K-12, higher education, health care, and federal, state, and local government markets. For the past two years, Kim has served as vice president and general manager for networking in Dell’s Product Group, where she led product development, engineering, marketing, and services. Based on her team’s efforts, Dell has successfully moved deeper into the networking business with the introduction and growth of its own Dell PowerConnect line of products. Kim joined Dell in September 2000 as vice president of business development and executive assistant to company CEO Michael Dell. Prior to joining Dell, Kim was a vice president at Bain & Company Inc., where she helped drive strategic transformations and operating improvements for major clients. Kim received an MBA with high honors from Harvard Business School. She also earned both a Master of Science degree in industrial engineering and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Stanford University. | Ellyn McColgan President of Fidelity Brokerage Company Since joining Fidelity Investments in 1990, Ellyn A. McColgan has held senior management positions within each of Fidelity’s three major distribution businesses. She began her career by developing an expertise in customer service and operations and then later added experience in sales, technology, and all the other functions that make a Fidelity business run. During her tenure with Fidelity, Ellyn has managed fund accounting and custody operations, the 401(k) client services division, the 403(b) business for not-for-profit institutions, and the intermediary business that distributes Fidelity funds through banks, broker-dealers, and insurance firms. She became the president of Fidelity Brokerage Company in October 2002 and is responsible for management of both the retail and institutional brokerage businesses. Ellyn is a trustee of Babson College, a member of the board of directors of the Security Industry Association, and a member of the board of directors of Decision Resources Inc. She is also a member of The Boston Club, an organization of senior professional women in Boston. She received a BA in psychology from Montclair State College in New Jersey and an MBA from Harvard Business School. | Donna Dubinsky Founder and CEO of Handspring, Inc. Donna Dubinsky is widely recognized as one of the most successful, cutting-edge, serial entrepreneurs of the last decade. On May 1, 2003, the Center for Women’s Leadership was honored to bring her to the Babson campus.
Dubinsky addressed a capacity crowd of students, alumni, faculty and staff in Olin Auditorium. Her captivating story began with her role as president and CEO of Palm Computing where Dubinsky helped make the PalmPilot the best-selling handheld computer and the most rapidly adopted new computing product ever produced. Dubinsky and Jeff Hawkins introduced the original PalmPilot in February 1996, a move that revitalized the handheld computing industry. Following that success, she co-founded Handspring with Hawkins in July 1998 to create a new breed of handheld computers for consumers. Dubinsky concluded her presentation with fifteen pieces of advice that focused on entrepreneurs, business and life. She stressed that entrepreneurs must challenge the conventional wisdom, that to succeed it takes a team both within and beyond the organization and that “cash is queen” in a company.
