CAP Manager Job Description

Bernon Center for Public Service Work-Study Manager Job Duties

All work study managers report to Josh Stevenson (jstevenson@babson.edu) and Lisa Thomas (thomasl@babson.edu).

On-Site Supervision:

 

1.                  While on-site as a Bernon Center Manager you are the official Babson representative

2.                  Ensure that Babson students comply with the rules and regulations regarding

3.                  Report any problems or infractions to Bernon Center administration

4.                  Delegate tasks and motivate volunteers

5.                  Report the names and hours worked for all Babson students and personnel who you supervise on-site

a.       No one gets paid unless you tell us the hours they worked, including yourself

 

Bi-Weekly Staff Meeting:

 

1.                  Every two weeks a mandatory, paid staff meeting will be held

2.                  The agenda will include current project status, future ideas, fundraising and reflection

3.                  Failure to attend meetings will jeopardize manager status

 

Semi-Semester Community Partner Evaluations:

 

1.                  Community Partner Evaluations assessing the quality of the partner and our work there will be completed at both the middle and end of the semester

2.                  The evaluations will help determine the Bernon Center’s relationship with the partners in the future

3.                  Failure to complete the evaluations will jeopardize manager status

 

Service Event Scheduling and Marketing:

 

1.                  Managers will be expected to be in contact with Community Partners in order to schedule future service events and build personal relationships

2.                  Managers will be expected to be in contact with Bernon Center administration and students in order to market and staff service events

a.       Marketing may include mass and personal email contact, fliers, tent cards, easel boards and other means deemed appropriate and effective

 

Fundraising:

 

1.                  Managers are expected to help plan, coordinate and participate in fundraisers benefiting the Bernon Center and its related activities (Alternative Spring Break, ect.)

2.                  This includes mandatory attendance at the Cruickshank Run as either a volunteer or a runner/walker

3.                  Failure to participate in fundraising will jeopardize manager status

 

Van Usage:

 

1.                  Van Certification is required in order to operate a Babson Van

2.                  Before requesting the keys to the Bernon Center van or a Public Safety van please make sure you are scheduled to use it

3.                  The keys to the Bernon Center Van are to be kept at Public Safety when the van is not in use

4.                  The Bernon Center Van is for official Bernon Center use only

5.                  Disregard for these rules may result in the loss of use of the Bernon Center Van
