This fall a team from the W. F. Glavin Center for Global Management at Babson College organized receptions around The MBA Tour in five Latin American countries: Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, and Venezuela. More then 250 alumni, parents and friends of Babson attended the events. We were thrilled with the enthusiasm for building strong alumni organizations in each country.
We would like to thank all who helped organize and attended the events.
Each evening program began with remarks by Richard J. Snyder, Esq. ’60 H’94 P’93’01, Chairman of the Babson College Overseers. He greeted the audience on behalf of the Babson Governance and followed with updates on the state of the College.
The evening continued with the introduction of Walter Esquivel P’96, the newly appointed Executive Director of the Institute for Latin American Business, who discussed Babson’s activities in Latin American and his visits to local universities. Walter is a successful businessman who is dedicated to enhancing Babson’s presence in Latin America.
The program concluded with comments by Marilyn B. Snyder M’80 P’93, the Deputy Director of the W.F. Glavin Center for Global Management, on Babson’s Global Strategy and the future plans for alumni activities in each country.
During The MBA Tour held in the capitals of each country visited—Brasilia, Santiago, Quito, Bogotá, and Caracas—we interacted with more than 400 prospective MBA students to promote the unique qualities of our different MBA programs. Even with the presence of prestigious schools such as Emory, ESADE, Duke, Cornell, and HEC Paris, the Babson table was very popular, as our reputation continues to grow throughout Latin America.
