The Glavin Center and Global Program Services sponsored a campus-wide international photo contest to celebrate International Education Week. Participation was excellent, as 219 photos were entered by 122 people and represented staff, faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students. The parameters for the entry were simple: the photo needed to be taken in a destination deemed international by the photographer. In addition, the photographers were encouraged to say why the photo was meaningful to them, resulting in many wonderful explanations. Voting, which was open to the entire Babson community, began on Monday and ended Thursday afternoon. The photos with the most votes won and the winners were announced on Friday, November 18th. First and second prize went to Michael Crain, an undergraduate student who studied abroad in New Zealand during spring semester ’05. His pictures highlighted the intense beauty of New Zealand’s South Island. Third prize went to Gregory Stahl, also an undergraduate who captured a daring ride on a hang glider in Mexico. The winning photos can be seen on the Glavin Center and GPS websites.
