The Allison Carroll Award was established to honor Allison Carroll, International Student Advisor at Babson College from 1996-1999. The award recognizes Ms. Carroll’s international leadership and outstanding service to the Babson College community. Ms. Carroll was dedicated to promoting interaction between Babson’s international and domestic student populations and spearheaded the first “East Meets West” event. In addition, she coordinated the “Global Student Leaders” series to encourage dialogue amongst the leaders of various intercultural student organizations.
Global Program Services presents this award annually, at the “East Meets West” event, to a deserving undergraduate student leader who is committed to increasing intercultural awareness and understanding. We are currently accepting nominations from the community.
To nominate an undergraduate student for the Allison Carroll Award, please submit a brief letter outlining why a particular Babson undergraduate student should be considered for this award.
Candidates will be judged on the following criteria:
- The student has fostered a climate of understanding and respect within and between student groups on campus.
- The student has organized campus-wide events that contribute to the expression of global themes and raise awareness of international issues on campus.
- The student has conducted him- or herself responsibly and maturely and serves as an example of a true Global Student Leader.
Nomination letters are due by April 3, 2006. Please submit all nominations to Karen Zuffante Pabon, Manager, International Student & Scholar Services.
