IE is a melting pot of academic, cultural, personal, and professional experiences. In no other place can you mix with people from more than 65 countries on campus, all with marked international exposure and intercultural experiences, having gained their professional experiences in small and mid-sized companies, in multinationals or in their own entrepreneurial venture.
The capacity for leadership plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day activities of directors in a business organization. Leadership skills are developed on a daily basis during the program thanks to the use of the case method, which constantly brings students up against real situations in which the correct use of these skills is of key importance. Leadership skills are also put into practice in a series of specific workshops aimed at perfecting them in each and every aspect.
Entrepreneurship is the driving force of all our activities. IE was created by entrepreneurs, the mission is clearly focused on adding value to society and all our MBA candidates have to write their own business plans tutored by more than 150 alumni. Because an entrepreneur is not only someone who creates his/her own business, but also someone who contributes to the growth and improvement of the organization where he/she works.
IE has always placed a marked emphasis on areas related to social responsibility, including ethics, sustainable development, protection of the environment, and diversity management. This ambition leads IE to the creation of different research centres like the Centre for Diversity in Global Management, the Centre for Eco-Intelligent Management, or our Corporate Governance Unit.
The capacity for establishing a solid network of professional contacts is one of the most appreciated qualities when valuing managers of the future. This is one of the great assets on offer at Instituto de Empresa and one which is developed both during and after the course thanks to the work carried out by the Alumni Association. With over 30,000 professionals all over the world, the Alumni Association reactivates and, on many occasions, establishes contacts between members of a collective with common interests.
