Brief Program Description Monash University was founded in 1961 and has grown to be the largest and most "international" of all Australian universities. The distinctive University grounds include a lake and 60 modern buildings set among playing fields and lush indigenous vegetation. Because of its size, Monash offers a large array of courses including Aboriginal Studies, Australian Studies, Asian and European Languages, Engineering and Business. The University Library houses 1.76 million volumes and about 17,000 current periodicals. The Computer Centre provides an undergraduate computing lab with over 200 PC workstations with both IBM and Mac machines. The Monash Union provides a lively focus for campus activities with concerts, a student newspaper and more than 100 clubs and societies for almost every kind of extracurricular interest. The Union Building has music rooms, an arts and crafts centre, a radio station and the Union Theatre that houses student productions.

You must have at least this GPA at the time of application and a 2.7 the semester prior to exchange. Failure to maintain adequate academic standing will result in your removal from the program. Monash will consider applicants with a 2.8 or above. These applications are considered on a case-by-case basis.

The University runs on a Southern Hemisphere calendar, so their first semester begins in mid-February and ends in June, and their second semester begins in July and ends in December.
