Program description Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland since the 11th century, is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Known as the 'Athens of the North,' Edinburgh is rich in history and tradition. The University of Edinburgh was founded in 1593 and is now one of the largest universities in Britain. It has an international reputation for academic excellence in traditional disciplines and new subjects, including artificial intelligence, information technology and biotechnology. The University library is the third largest in Britain, and has places for 3500 readers. The active Edinburgh University Students' Association has extensive facilities, including a library, cafeterias, bars and shops.

Comments The University of Edinburgh has three terms. The Fall semester is a regular semester that concludes in December. The Spring semester is comprised of two modules. Students studying at the University of Edinburgh in the Spring participate in both modules.
