Program descriptionEstablished in 1411, St. Andrews is Scotland's oldest university and among the last of the old European universities to remain integrated with its town. On average, one in every three people in St. Andrews is affiliated with the university. St. Andrews is famous for its teaching of the humanities, and now claims the largest Medieval History Department in Britain. It also has an equally strong reputation in the sciences, owning the largest optical telescope in Britain and some of the most sophisticated lasers in Europe. Students may choose from the vast array of courses and levels available.

CommentsThe University of St. Andrews has two terms. The Fall semester ends in late January, and the Spring semester ends in late May. Given the late end of the Fall semester program, it is best to attend the program during the Spring semester.
