Babson College is located approximately 14 miles west of Boston. If you don’t have a car, there are three different options for getting to and from the city.

Commuter Rail: The “Commuter Rail” is a train network that primarily services communities outside of Boston. The closest Commuter Rail station to Babson College is “Wellesley Hills” – located approximately one mile from campus (a 20-25 minute walk or a quick taxi ride). You need to take the “Inbound” train to go in to the city (“Outbound” to return to Babson). A one-way fare costs $3.75. Tickets can be purchased on the train or at South Station (there is a surcharge for tickets purchased in the train taken from South Station, so it is better to purchase tickets for an “Outbound” ride at the station). It is a 30-minute ride to South Station. From there, you can transfer to the “T” (subway) to travel within the city. Trains and buses leaving Boston for southern cities and destinations also leave from South Station (buses to New York or Washington D.C. for example). For Commuter Rail maps and schedules, visit www.mbta.com (click on “Commuter Rail”). “Wellesley Hills” is located on the “Framingham/Worcester” line. Trains run at ½-hour to 2-hour intervals Monday thru Friday and 1- to 3- hour intervals on weekend days. A taxi to the “Wellesley Hills” station costs approximately $5-8 plus tip.

The The “T”:  The subway in Boston is known as the “T” and is relatively easy to navigate. The closest “T” stop to Babson is “Woodland Hills,” located on the D (green) line (the second-to-last stop). “Woodland Hills” is about 4 miles from Babson, so you’ll need to take a taxi to get to and from the station, or get a ride from a friend. The taxi fare will be around $15 plus tip (one way). Take the “Inbound” train to reach the city (about a 40-minute ride). You can transfer to other “T” lines at Park Street Station. A one-way fare into Boston costs $3, but a one-way “Outbound” fare back to “Woodland Hills” costs $1.25. “Riverside” station, the last stop on the D line, is also accessible to Babson – only a little further from the College than “Woodland.”  Once Downtown, you can access almost any part of the greater city area by "T" or bus.  Click here for the MBTA website which includes a map of the "T" as well as schedules for all trains and buses.

Saturday Shuttle Service: From 11 am to 2 am on Saturdays, Babson provides a limited shuttle service to various local area destinations, including “Quincy Market” (located in the city) and the “Riverside” “T” station (the last stop on the D (green) line). From “Riverside” you can take the “Inbound” train into the city ($3, approximately 45 minutes). The Shuttle leaves from the main entrance of the Reynolds Campus Center.
