Immigration Information on Obtaining a Form I-20 or Form DS-2019
Most international students at Babson College enter the U.S. with an F-1 (Student) or J-1 (Exchange Visitor) visa.
After being admitted to a program at Babson College, you must obtain a Certificate of Eligibility/Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 from the College in order to apply for the F-1 or J-1 visa in your home country. These immigration documents may only be issued after you have been admitted to the College by providing a written application and proof of English language proficiency. After you submit your deposit, you must also complete a Declaration/Certification of Finances certifying financial ability to cover your educational and living expenses for at least one academic year.
If you are coming from another U.S. school you will follow the same procedures but you will also be required to complete a "" Form.
If you are outside of the U.S. you may need to pay the and apply for a visa to enter the U.S. as a student.
The visa application process varies from country to country and can take up to two to three months. It is important to begin the process as soon as you are accepted to Babson College.
