The Big Dig

Boston, Massachusetts had a world-class traffic problem, an elevated six-lane highway called the Central Artery that ran through the center of downtown. It was one of the most congested highways in the United States. The solution, called the Central Artery/Tunnel Project (CA/T) ("The Big Dig"), was designed to replace the elevated highway with an eight-to-ten-lane underground expressway directly beneath the existing road.

The project will cost the city billions of dollars and has been under construction since late 1991. No matter where you go around town, you are bound to see construction as part of the Big Dig! For up-to-date information on the Big Dig, go to MTA's Big Dig Website.

Boston

You will most likely fly into the Boston's Logan Airport, unless you arrive at another city and travel before coming to Babson. Babson College is located in Wellesley, MA, a suburb located about 20 miles from the airport. Since there is no public transportation from the airport directly to Babson, you will need to take either a taxi or one of the following shuttle services to the campus.

Veteran’s Taxi also provides door-to-door service from Logan Airport to Babson 24 hours a day, costing approximately $55 plus tip (10-15%) and tolls. To make a reservation, call (781) 235-1600.
Airport Direct charges a flat rate of $93 for a private car from Logan Airport to Babson for 1-3 passengers, which includes tolls (but you will still want to tip the driver 10-15%). You can call ahead and give them your flight number so they will be waiting when you arrive: (781) 431-1000. This service is available 24 hours a day.
Knight’s Airport Limousine Service provides private car and van service from Logan Airport starting at 4:30AM through 1AM. Rates from Logan Airport to Babson start at $110 for a private car or $125 for a private van (including gratuities), both of which can accommodate multiple passengers. Zebra Shuttle provides private van service from Logan Airport to Babson College from 3:30AM to 11:30PM. Rates start at $101 for 1-2 people, including gratuity, and increase approximately $11 per additional passenger.
