Immigration Information on Obtaining a Form I-20 or Form DS-2019
Most international students at Babson College enter the U.S. with an F-1 (Student) or J-1 (Exchange Visitor) visa.
After a student is admitted to a program at Babson College and has deposited, they will need to complete and submit a Declaration/Certification of Finances certifying financial ability to cover your educational and living expenses for at least one academic year. Then, a Certificate of Eligibility/Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 is issued by the College. The next step is to pay the SEVIS Fee and apply for the F-1 or J-1 visa in your home country. If you are coming from another U.S. school you will follow the same procedures but you will also be required to complete a "."
Students will receive a welcome packet along with their Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 that which will explain how to pay the SEVIS fee and apply for a visa.
Note: The visa application process varies from country to country and can take up to two to three months. It is important to begin the process as soon as you are accepted to Babson College.
