Enerflux Agroenergia (George W.B. Sousa, George W.L. Sousa, Carolina L.S. Avelar, and Guilherme L. Sousa), formed by a successful Family Business Group, this company is a producer of renewable energy – ethanol, electricity, biodiesel, and biogas – in Brazil. The company is positioned to compete in the commodity market as a highly efficient producer, leveraging on the sustained integration of natural resources, state-of-the-art technology, and entrepreneurial know how.

Generate Change (Jennifer Green) will be the preferred partner for retailers wishing to increase business through community engagement. We connect retail partners selling Good X (furniture, office supplies, toys) to community charitable organizations that need Good X. Consumers at retailer partners will be able to simply round up their total at the point of sale, generating merchandise credit for the community organizations in need. Ultimately, retailers will be able to transform their customers into philanthropists as they create this pool of merchandise credit for local organizations in need of resources.

Healthy Textures (Gennifer Miller) is a company dedicated to helping women reverse damage and achieve stronger, healthier hair. We specialize in highly textured or ethnic hair, which is easily dehydrated and damaged. We retail healthy hair books, dvds and styling tool kits. In addition, we provide advertising supported articles and short video clips.

Kuma Chews (Kurt Mangold) are an all-natural chew similar to Starbursts that combines great taste, convenience, and numerous functional ingredients such as Omega-3s, antioxidants, and fiber. These patented chews will initially be marketed and sold to natural food retailers, such as Whole Foods. Imagine….a candy that is actually good for you to eat!

Mica (James LeSueur) goes against the grain using natural wood to create a totally unique and durable line of wristwatches that are the ultimate in coolness. MindScout (William Geller) provides a hand-held device targeting Early-stage Alzheimer’s patients and their care partners by replacing the care partner for routine tasks and repetitive questions. By helping ease the burden on the Care Partner, the common ailment of burn-out is avoided and the patient receives a better quality of life through greater independence and longer home-stay care.

My Green Home (Ken Dupuis & Richard Fitzpatrick) provides one convenient place for customers to learn about and source solar energy solutions. We will expand the alternative energy market by making the adoption of solar electric and solar thermal technology easy and cost effective for mainstream consumers.

Revolution (Isaac Van Wesep) has re-thought what a K-12 computer should be, and has produced a K-12 laptop that looks nothing like an Apple iBook or OLPC XO. We use thin client networking technology – where a central server runs all applications & stores all data and serves it to mobile client laptop terminals – to give every student her own computer to use in class and take home. But we don’t stop there: we’ve established a public knowledge base for teachers to share best practice in a 24/7 digital classroom, 3rd-party scientific efficacy studies, and grant writing assistance to help schools pay for our program.

Shine Advertisement (Alejandro Saenz de la Calzada) is an advertising media company that focuses on targeted messages to specific segments of the public defined by values, preferences, attitudes, demographic and geographic attributes. By using a different concept in indoor advertising, our goal is to help companies have a cheaper and more innovative way to advertise their products to potential customers. Furthermore, we will help establishments to have a value not only by giving their customers a complementary free shoe shine service but an additional income regardless of their core business.

Verego (Aldo Mario Eduardo Carrascoso) offers consulting, research, brokering and management services to upper and middle market companies. We transact with North American and Western European companies by acting as a management and matching conduit between these western companies and a number of accredited outsourcing partners who operate in both local and international locations. Our physical presence, local industry expertise, macroeconomic understanding and intimate business relationships in major outsourcing locations such as India, China, Singapore and the Philippines allow us to ensure that every outsourcing contract is executed with quality, professionalism, transparency and reliability. We work to augment our clients' strategies by helping them understand the project from a holistic perspective that ranges from a comprehensive country analysis and vendor due diligence to contract negotiation and relationship management.

Word Up! (Daniel Shugrue) is a marketing services firm that specializes in spreading off-line, word-of-mouth information about consumer electronics. Daniel is currently expanding his idea in partnership with Nokia and Nokia S60 software. Several word of mouth "Ambassador" programs have been executed, and a larger roll-out of the program is schedule to begin in April 2008.

The Working Dawg (Shauna Allocco) will provide an exceptionally convenient solution and alternative to the traditional doggie day care model. By partnering with large corporations and business parks, The Working Dawg will offer doggie day care and other services as a benefit to these companies and their hard working employees. This service will eliminate the need for these professionals to resort to unfavorable alternatives for their dogs during the work day. As a result, we will provide these companies with a unique benefit to offer their employees to better attain and retain key players while providing a safe, happy and healthy environment for the dogs.
