Entrepreneurship Intensity Track

The mission of the Entrepreneurship Intensity Track (EIT) is to dramatically enhance the education of MBA student entrepreneurs through an integrated elective program that tailors each student’s education to best fit their specific market opportunity and helps them launch a new venture.

Program Overview
EIT begins with a rigorous application process that includes a series of interviews. EIT candidates must provide a personal statement of intent along with an industry and value chain analysis on their proposed ventures. We guide every student entrepreneur down a path of candid self-reflection and discovery, to see if he/she really has the intellect, fortitude and passion to launch a venture. We put teams through a similar process to make sure all those involved have complementary personal and professional goals.

The compressed, highly focused EIT curriculum cultivates the necessary skills to take a business idea through exploration, investigation, and refinement. The curriculum consists of integrated modules delivered during a 12-month period (May to May). Each module consists of academic classroom learning that is interdisciplinary. The program’s flexibility tailors each student’s education to best fit their perceived market opportunity and enables them to work toward funding and launching their business during the spring of the second year of the MBA program.

All modules include regular events that allow the students to interact with industry experts relevant to their chosen business and provide them the opportunity to put their knowledge to work as it applies to their business venture. Through regular exposure to potential investors, experienced entrepreneurs and service providers, student entrepreneurs develop a Brain Trust of experienced advisers. A specific Brain Trust mentor, chosen from a list of committed friends and alumni of the college, is assigned to each student.

EIT students also take part in a number of cohesion events. They participate in the Product Development and Design Fair, and they pitch to investors in our Rocket Pitch Competition and the annual Babson Business Plan Competition. These cohesion events link the classroom education to the refinement and launch of their specific business idea and assist in the successful launch of their company.
