The Institute for Family Enterprising Blog brings you the latest in events, research and thoughts from within the nexus of family business and entrepreneurship. We will also use authors and findings from our major research arm - the STEP Project.
Last week, we convened with our European team at the University of Witten/Herdecke in Germany to get to know our new members, discuss research progress, and pursue publication opportunities. As always when there are new members to a core group, we were a little unsure of how everyone would fit in. Thankfully we had nothing but positive experience with our new partner institutions. We were pleased to be accompanied by representatives from University of Antwerp, UCD Dublin, University of Edinburgh, Imperial College, and Bilkent University in Turkey. We are very excited about the new expertise that these institutions will contribute to the STEP Project. As you can tell from our dinner photograph above, we now have a great mix of seasoned scholars paired with young talent. As with most endeavors, there needs to be experience to set the vision and strategy and eager legs to help run with it. This formula has proven quite successful thus far and we expect it to continue as we expand in each region.
After our meeting everyone seems to be on track and we are very excited about what the European Team will produce in 2007.
