Babson College, IAE Universidad Austral and Universidad de San Andres recently held a Symposium for Entrepreneurship Educators in Buenos Aires on the IAE Universidad Austral campus during March 28-30, 2007. The symposium attracted 58 participants from Argentina, Ecuador, Uruguay and Peru and featured sessions delivered by Vice Provost for Entrepreneurship and Global Management Steven Spinelli, Franklin W. Olin Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship Jeffry Timmons, ILAB Executive Director Walter Esquivel, Professor Silvia Carbonell (IAE) and Professor Sergio Postigo (UdSA). Professor Carbonell attended the SEE program at Babson in 2005, and Professor Postigo attended the 2000 program at Babson.

In an intensive three-day program, the participants including academicians, policy makers, and entrepreneurs explored the entrepreneurial process, the “art and craft” of teaching and learning entrepreneurship, and core topics in the discipline.  The goal of the program was to help all participants become more effective, innovative teachers of entrepreneurship.  While the course was taught primarily in English, simultaneous translation was available for those more comfortable with Spanish.  Topics covered in the program included:  The Quest for Master Teaching, Mapping the Entrepreneurship Territory, Cultivating the Entrepreneurial Mindset, New Venture Creation, Family Enterprising, Entrepreneurship Curriculum Design and Alternative Pedagogies, Entrepreneurship at Your Institution, and The Entrepreneurial Mind in Action.
