 Basic Steps- In the Keyword, Words in Title and Company boxes, enter words and phrases connected by AND, OR, NOT.
- Buzzwords such as Concept Terms, Marketing Terms, Industry Names, Product Codes, Geographic Codes, Document Types can be selected from lists.
- Highlight desired term or use the Multi-Select feature to select more than one term. Holding down the Ctrl key allows you to select multiple terms. For a larger selection of terms, search each database separately.
- Click Search.

* To take full advantage of detailed indexing, search one database at a time. ** When using NEAR, you cannot always use this with complex searches. Segment or Field Searching Databases use different codes to allow you to search by specific field. This can help to narrow your search to a specific publication, author, or date. |
Viewing, Printing & Saving OptionsTo print, click File > Print from the browser toolbar. - Ensure the correct printer is chosen and click ok
- To save, click File > Save As.
- Make sure you save to A:\ , change the extension to .txt, and change the file type to "Plain Text".
Be aware that text sometimes gets cut off at the margin when printing. To ensure you print all text, copy and paste the article into a word processing program. |
Scope | Responsive Database Services produces databases particularly good for company, industry and market analysis: Business and Industry Database (B&I) uses detailed indexing to help you focus your search on particular industries, products, markets, and marketing strategies. Coverage includes "over 900 trade and business publications covering business events in over 190 countries around the world" from 1995 to present. TableBase provides current market share and rankings with the same detailed indexing in B&I. Table data is obtained worldwide from privately-published statistical annuals, trade associations, non-profit research groups, government agencies. Subjects covered include: market share, company and brand rankings, industry and product forecasts, production and consumption statistics, imports and exports, usage and capacity, number of users and outlets, trends and demographics. |
