Basic Steps

  1. Type in keyword search terms.
  2. Use Boolean indicators to refine your search (and, or, not, near).
  3. Click on Go button to retrieve documents.
  4. Once you have results you can use sort by date or alphabetic title list.
  5. Each document has many sections, either view individually, or click the PDF icon next to the date of the report to see the whole document at once (frequently they are 15-25 pages long).
  6. You can also browse from the blue left toolbar by topic or date.

CQ Researcher (formerly Congressional Quarterly) examines contemporary issues that affect the public at large.  Each issue focuses on a different topic with background, historical milestones, an overview of the current situation, future outlook and opposing viewpoints (plus bibliographies).  Topics range from global warming to child labor.
