SEARCH for a company by Name:

• Enter the complete or partial name of a company in the Name field. A partial name will display all companies whose name begins with the character sequence entered (e.g. typing "Inter" will display all companies that start "Inter")
• Click on Search --> Company Ratings Page will display if there is a match. NOTE: If there are multiple results, select the company from the “drop box” under the Search Results header

SEARCH for companies by Portfolio:

• Select a portfolio from the Portfolio box
• Click on Select --> Company Ratings Page of first company in portfolio will display
• NOTE: to view additional companies in the portfolio, select a company from the Search Results list of companies

OTHER functions on the Company Profile Tab

• The ISSUES tab displays KLD’s social ratings on qualitative issues: Community, Diversity, Employee Relations, Environment, Non-US Operations, and Product.
• The INVOLVEMENT tab displays KLD’s research on controversial businesses: Alcohol, Firearms, Gambling, Military, Nuclear Power, and Tobacco.
• Use the PRINT button to create a formatted report. The report contains a cover page, summary of ratings and statistics, and full profile text.
• EXPORT Company Profile information:
  • Exporting data on an individual company: use the SEARCH functions to lookup a single company, then click on “Export Companies” from the ratings page
  • Exporting data for a group of companies: use the Portfolio and/or Query Select to lookup a group on companies, then click on “Export Companies” from the ratings page

SCREEN a Portfolio by using the social criteria defined by a Query

• Select a Portfolio from the list – this defines the universe to screen
• Select a Query to use as the screen
• Click on Select

Example of Screening the S&P 100 by the DSI 400 membership:

• Alcohol
• Contraceptive Products
• Firearms
• Gambling

VIEW Involvement Report by list, full text, or spreadsheet

• SEARCH Involvement Reports by name or ticker, or portfolioVIEW Involvement Report
• Select option boxes to choose Involvement Report
• Click on Company List to obtain a list sortable by company name, country, and issue
• Click on Full Text for more detailed information
• Click on Export List to download a spreadsheet with company name, revenue information, and country

SEARCH Involvement Reports by ticker, name, or portfolio

• If the company is on an Involvement Report, then the match will appear. If the company has no involvement, then the following text will appear, “The selected company has no involvement in the issues for which you have purchased reports.”
• NOTE: a partial name will display a list of all companies whose name begins with the character sequence entered (e.g. typing "Inter" will display all companies that start "Inter").
• Select the Portfolio and Involvement businesses to check the portfolio for companies with involvement.

• Company Profiles - Social ratings detailing the strengths and concerns of each company on a range of issues including the environment, employee relations, diversity, community, product quality, non-US operations and involvement in alcohol, adult entertainment, gambling, tobacco, military contracting, and nuclear power.
• Industry Involvement Reports
• Detailed Social Ratings

Socrates also provides screening capabilities on 70 ratings areas including alcohol, tobacco, adult entertainment, gambling or use qualitative ratings to evaluate environmental performance and community involvement.
