Finding Books at Babson and Beyond

Search the library catalog  to find books at Babson and other WEBnet consortium libraries: (Bentley, Regis, Pine Manor, Olin Colleges).

To request books from other WEBnet libraries: use the LIB number on your Babson OneCard and your PIN to place the book on Hold for yourself.

It usually takes only a few days for us to get the book(s) for you. You will be notified by email when the book arrives.  Forgot your PIN? Email library@babson.edu to get a new one.

Use FirstSearch Worldcat database to find books at libraries around the world. Borrow items you see listed by clicking on the send request to Babson ILL within the record.

Expert Search Techniques: Human Database PowerPoint | Boolean Search Worksheet

Use the following library subscription databases to locate articles & essays on your topic.

FirstSearch
AH Search - provides access to arts and humanities indexing and abstracting, as well as selelcted coverage of social science journals
MLA International Bibliography (Modern Language Association) - database on literaure, language and folklore.
Medline - Provides access to indexing and abstacting in all areas of medicine, including psychiatry

JSTOR.
For access to full text scholarly articles; type word(s) and set pull downs.

ProQuest.
Contains full text and abstracts of magazines, newspapers, and journals. Use the SCHOLARLY ARTICLES tab to limit your search. Glean subject terms to expand your search.
PsychINFO (American Psychological Asscociation) - provides indexing and abstracting of psychology journals with most full text coverage dating from mid 1990's on.
New York Times (Historical Newspapers) - image based coverage from 1851 - 2001 (For more current coverage of this title, see LexisNexis entry which follows). 

LexisNexis Academic.
Full text and abstracts of newspapers, magazines, and journals. Choose GUIDED NEWS SEARCH tab for a more precise search. Use for U.S. & World News,  Transcripts (ABC, CNN, NPR, etc), and Medical News, journals and abstracts.
New York Times - for full coverage from 6/1/80 onward.

InfoTrac Expanded Academic ASAP.
Full text and abstracts of professional journals and magazines.

Galenet
Essays on authors from the following: Dictionary of Literary Biography, The Twayne Authors Series, Scribner Writers Series.

2. Library Catalog - is the journal title or a book is available at Babson?
