Great source for data and reports. For trade data, click on the "Statistics" tab and then "OECD Database" link. Scroll on the list to the "ITCS International Trade by Commodity" link. Easy to download data or graphs. Also, there are many data tables contained in the appendices to the reports.
Euromonitor GMID
Look for exports or imports by commodity or destination (source IMF), trade balance, and customs & excise information. Make selections under Geography and Category/Foreign Trade.
USA Trade Online
Best up-to-date source for US export and import data. Includes port data. Create a table by harmonized tariff number. Download data into excel.
STAT-USA
One-stop source for information on US trade with other countries. Click on "Globus and NTDB" tab to begin your search. See especially the "Country Commercial Guides", "Best Market Reports", and "Estimates on Foreign Trade Barriers". Includes trade leads, and federal, commercial and defense procurement information.
For US exports: Export.gov. The best place to start if planning to export from the US to another country. Use this portal for Export Basics, market research and trade leads. Includes reports and webcasts. Export.gov is a "Presidential E-Government Initiative" designed to promote better customer service between businesses and the federal government.
For US imports: US Bureau of Customs & Border Protection - See the "Import" tab on the toolbar for a page with reports and procedures related to importing goods and services into the United States.
For trade leads, policies and treaties: Office of the United States Trade Representative - (USTR) Provides information on trade policy, trade leads, and the text of trade agreements. If you are interested in the official stand of the U.S. toward trade with another country, then start with this web site. See also, the links to "Small Business" and "Export" information.
For export and import data between countries: World Trade Organization - WTO Trade disputes, international treaties, and merchandise trade data. Includes import and export data for individual countries. See the tabs on the top for "Trade Topics," "Resources" (Including statistics) and "Documents". Many detailed data files can be downloaded in .zip format.
Trade portals and other global business information: globalEDGE from MSU's International Business Center (CIBER). Under "Global Resources" see the Trade link to trade law, trade portals, trade leads and shows, and other information. Excellent free source.
