| If you are having problems connecting to Horn Library's web-based Electronic Resources, please check our Troubleshooting Tips below. Most of our resources are web-based, requiring a current web browser and Adobe Acrobat Reader. A few are networked CD-ROMs accessed using your web browser.  Getting Help and Reporting Problems Babson network username issues or updating your browser Contact the ITSD Support Center: If you change your password or the Support Center provides you with an updated username and password, there may be a delay before you are able to access the library's services. Using or connecting to electronic resources  Troubleshooting Tips General: - Valid Babson network username/password is required.
- Enable cookies in your browser. Click here for steps.
- Enable popups - check your popup blockers, including your browser and any installed toolbars (Google, Yahoo, etc.). All popup blockers must be set to enable popups.
- Disconnect non-Babson Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
- Update Adobe Acrobat Reader and your web browser - Internet Explorer, Netscape, or if using a Macintosh, Safari.
- Laptop users bringing laptops between work and home may have cookies that do not match their current location. Try restarting your laptop and/or deleting cookies (In IE, choose Tools > Internet Options and click Delete Cookies.)
- On campus problems: check your laptop's campus network configuration with IT Support in Horn 220.
Adobe Reader 8: Adobe removed Digital Rights Management out of Adobe Reader with their latest version. This causes problems when trying to access pdfs from the Vault or ebooks from EBL. To open Vault pdfs or EBL ebooks install Adobe Digital Editions. This product handles Digital Rights Management. It is in beta, but it does work with Vault & EBL. Personal Firewalls: - Add the following as Trusted Sites in Internet Explorer (see steps below):

- proquest.com
- umi.com
- babson.edu
- Check to see if your personal firewall is blocking referring URLs:
- Click on the test link in EBSCOhost's FAQ to see if your firewall is blocking referring URLs.
- If it is, see EBSCOhost's FAQ for directions on how to diable that feature for Norton Internet Security and Norton Personal Firewall. For all other personal firewall software, please check the company's web site or contact their technical support.
Corporate Firewalls: - Your company's firewall could be preventing access. Ask your company’s IT network administrator if they can open up TCP ports 2048-2748 for incoming traffic.
Certificate Error: If you get an error message about the certificate name not matching: - IE: Click “Continue to this website (not recommended)”.
- Firefox: Click OK.
 Additional Considerations If you cannot connect to just one resource (vs. multiple resources) or can't connect to Babson's version, consider the following: - The subscription limit on the number of simultaneous users may be reached. Try the resource again later.
- Heavy Internet traffic may be timing out the connection - try again later.
- Vendor site may be down - notify the Horn Library Information Desk: 781-239-4596.

- Choose Tools > Internet Options
- Click the Security tab
- Choose Trusted Sites and then click Sites
- Add these web sites to the zone by entering each server and then clicking Add:
- babson.edu
- epnet.com
- proquest.com
- umi.com
- You may need to unclick "Require server verification...."
- Choose OK to close window, and then OK again.

Quick Help with Blackboard Links If you are having problems bringing up articles linked in Blackboard, check the troubleshooting tips above. You may also try retrieving the article from one of our electronic resources: - Go to http://www.babson.edu/library and choose the Online Journal Finder from the left hand menu.
- Enter the journal title for the article you need. (Not the article title.)
- Click the resource that provides the date you need.
- Navigate to the issue and article you need. Steps will vary depending on the Electronic Resource. See the resource's instruction page for more detailed information about searching that database.
