Babson Participates In World Entrepreneurship Forum

Babson President Leonard Schlesinger and Professors Jean-Pierre Jeannet and Patti Greene presented at The World Entrepreneurship Forum held in Lyon, France Nov. 18-21, 2009.  The forum is the first worldwide think tank dedicated to entrepreneurs, creators of wealth and social justice.  It gathers annually more than 100 members of more than 40 different nationalities.

This year’s theme - How Can Governments, At All Levels, Support The Development Of Entrepreneurship? - was the focus of three program components:

The “Think-tank sessions” gathered 100 prominent figures of entrepreneurship from 40 countries. They worked hand in hand to propose concrete recommendations on How Can Governments, At All Levels, Support The Development Of Entrepreneurship?

The "Entrepreneur for the World" Award Ceremony celebrated four international personalities (one entrepreneur, one social entrepreneur, one expert/educator, one politician) for their entrepreneurial success and their commitment to society. These personalities were chosen by the Think-tank members during the 2008 Forum, and selected by an international Jury as role models in the field of entrepreneurship and social justice.

The “Forum Public Workshops” addressed eight key issues of todays entrepreneurship during public sessions that allowed Think-tank members to share their experience, practices, and insights with the general public.

The first World Entrepreneurship Forum was held in Evian (France) in November 2008 with EMLYON Business School and KPMG as Founding Members. Babson College, OECD Leed Project, and Region Rhone-Alpes were the pioneer partners of this first edition of the World Entrepreneurship Forum.
