Babson Alum, Founder of PCBuild, Starts New Company in Portsmouth, NH
Michael Healey, Babson 1992 MBA alumni, and founder of Yeoman Technology Group, LLC, announced it has begun operations from its Portsmouth location. The Company will help organizations understand how their products are sold in the various Internet channels, whether its traditional ecommerce, integrated supply chain engines, or social networking systems.
“The web has matured into multiple sales channels for any Company,” commented Healey. Organizations need to think beyond a simple ecommerce site and understand the different systems that all help them bring their product to market.”
Yeoman focuses on manufacturers, publishers, and software companies who create original content. Most of these companies still rely on traditional distribution models to get product to market. This often leaves a gap in their presence on the web; which means they’re missing sales. Yeoman helps these companies identify and move into distribution channels where they lack appropriate presence.
Healey started his first company, PCBuild Computer Kits, while attending Babson. PCBuild won the 1992 Douglass Prize for Entrepreneurship and was later worked into a series of case studies for Professor Jeff Timmons’ course “New Venture Creation.” For a decade these cases were a staple for Babson entrepreneurship students.
