Babson College Recognized as “Great College to Work For”
Chronicle of Higher Ed Distinguishes Babson in Six Categories
Babson College-- the world’s leading school for entrepreneurial management education—received recognition as a “Great College to Work For” in a survey released this week by The Chronicle of Higher Education.
One hundred and fifty colleges were recognized in The Chronicle of Higher Education’s 2009 Great Colleges to Work For® program.
The program recognizes the top ten colleges in each size classification (based on enrollment) for specific best practices and policies, such as job satisfaction, compensation and benefits, faculty/administration relations, and confidence in senior leadership. Out of 26 recognition categories Babson received top honors in six:

Healthy Faculty/Administration Relations—senior leadership communicates with and respects faculty members.

Facilities and Security—appearance of the campus is pleasing and the institution takes steps to provide a secure environment.

Confidence in Senior Leadership—leaders have the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary for institutional success.

Additionally, Babson College President Leonard A. Schlesinger was featured in the editorial, Babson’s New President Pushes for Openness on the Campus. In his first year as Babson’s new president, Schlesinger made openness a cornerstone of the culture, giving faculty and staff members confidence in his leadership. How the Survey was Conducted
The results of The Chronicle of Higher Education’s survey of Great Colleges to Work For are based on responses from nearly 41,000 administrators, faculty, and staff at 247 institutions, including four‐year colleges and universities, as well as community colleges. The assessment process also included an analysis of demographic data and workplace policies at each participating college or university.
