
Wellesley, Mass…The F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College has appointed Allan R. Cohen Interim Dean. Cohen holds the Edward A. Madden Distinguished Professor in Global Leadership, and has been a part of the Babson community for 25 years. He previously served for seven years as Babson’s Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty.
A consultant on organizational change for companies such as GE, he also helped found the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad. Prior to his time at Babson he was the J.R. Carter Professor of Management at the University of New Hampshire. He is coauthor of Managing for Excellence, the award-winning Alternative Work Arrangements; Integrating Individual and Organizational Needs;Power Up: Transforming Organizations through Shared Leadership; and Influence without Authority.
Cohen’s areas of expertise include leadership and influence, change in organizations, management and organizational behavior, cross-functional teams, cultural analysis, group dynamics, and educational methods.
“Dr. Cohen brings great wisdom and understanding of what today’s business students need to succeed in a competitive global economy,” according to Babson Provost Patricia Greene.

Cohen earned an A.B., Amherst College; and D.B.A., M.B.A., Harvard University.
