Babson College Is #1 Nominating School in The Entrepreneurs’ Organization Global Student Entrepreneur Awards
Babson College is the #1 Nominating School, among the top 25, in The Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA). GSEA-- an Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) program-- is the world’s premiere award for undergraduate students that own and run businesses while attending a college or university.
Annually, student entrepreneurs from more than 340 universities and colleges worldwide receive nominations. From the approximately 1,500 nominations, 30 finalists will compete for the top prize at the 2009 GSEA Global Finals Competition at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City, Missouri,USA, to be held 18-20 November 2009.
Applicants are selected to compete against their peers by presenting their businesses to a panel of EO member judges. The judges then complete the student entrepreneur evaluations, provide feedback to the participating students and determine the regional winner(s). The top two winners advance to the Global Finals, with flights and accommodation paid for by GSEA.
Prior to the Global Finals, a series of five regional competitions will take place across the United States. In addition to the United States, 17 countries including recent additions South Korea and South Africa will be represented at the Global Final Competition where more than US $150,000 in cash and donated business services will be awarded to the finalists.
