Ugrad Alums-- IdeaPaint Founders-- Named to Inc. Magazine’s 30 Under 30: America’s Coolest Young Entrepreneurs
John Goscha, Jeff Avallon, and Morgan Newman-- Babson UG Class of 2006 and IdeaPaint founders-- have been named to Inc . magazine’s 30 Under 30: America’s Coolest Young Entrepreneurs List.
The IdeaPaint product line turns virtually anything that can be painted—at home, work, or school-- into a high-performance dry-erase surface, providing users the space they need to collaborate, interact, and fully explore their creativity.
The IdeaPaint concept was hatched in 2002 when Goscha, a Babson College freshman living in the B-school’s E-Tower dorm for entrepreneurs, “…would often hang large pieces of paper on his dorm walls, creating a makeshift canvas where he and his classmates could sketch out their business ideas. The tedium of hanging paper got Goscha to thinking, wouldn’t it be great if we could just paint the wall and write right on them?” wrote Inc. magazine. http://www.inc.com/30under30/articles/for-young-entrepreneurs-safety-in-numbers.html
Another feature, Getting By with a Little Help from Their Friends, describes how two-thirds of young entrepreneurs turn to family, friends, and other partners to jump-start ideas. The story reports that “The three (Goscha, Avallon, Newman) even signed on two Babson professors as investors.” http://www.inc.com/30under30/2009/articles/getting-by-with-a-little-help-from-their-friends.html
