Babson MBA Grads Among Top According to Employers Worldwide

Babson MBA Grads Among Top According to Employers Worldwide

Babson’s MBA program has earned high marks in the QS Global 200 Business Schools 2009 report just released, naming it #36 in North America (#30 among U.S. schools) as a school most favored by employers.

TopMBAconducted the survey of global MBA employers to help determine their preferences for recruiting at business schools in different disciplines. Known since the early 1990’s as the “Global Recruiters’ top Business Schools Research”, the report is an alternative to business school rankings.

In addition to being named among North America’s best programs, employers worldwide named Babson’s F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business among the best in four specific areas:

  • #9 in Entrepreneurship (#6 among U.S. schools)
  • #21 in Operations Management (#11, U.S.)
  • #36 in Corporate Governance (#24, U.S.)
  • #46 in E-Business (#18, U.S.)

Entrepreneurship has become the second most popular specialization at leading business schoolsTopMBA Applicant Survey reveals that on average, 27% of MBA applicants seek to run their own business after graduation. While in school, many of these individuals focus on entrepreneurial management, learning how to evaluate business opportunities, write business plans and forge networks, which can help them succeed in business.

Among U.S. universities, Babson shares honors with Stanford, Wharton, Harvard, MIT, and Columbia.  Employers often look for budding entrepreneurs to bring the entrepreneurial spirit to the corporate environment and so employers look carefully for the best entrepreneurial programs.

“This survey confirms what employers tell us,” remarked Raghu Tadepalli, Murata Dean of the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business.  “Babson MBAs leave with an entrepreneurial mindset that allows them to create great economic and social value in any global enterprise.”

TopMBA calls this the definitive list of 200 business schools currently preferred by the most international employers for the purpose of hiring MBA graduates. It is compiled from an annual survey of Human Resources managers and line managers with recruiting responsibilities at companies around the world. Each year employers recommend new schools to be added to the list, which these employers then rate and comment upon.

QS Mission is to enable motivated people around the world to fulfill their potential by fostering international mobility, educational achievement and career development.
