Babson Adjunct Lecturer Earns Teaching Excellence Award in Paris
Michael Gordon, adjunct lecturer in entrepreneurship at Babson College, has been honored with the 2009 Teaching Excellence Award for the International Region by The Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
The award was presented by ACBSP for Gordon’s many years teaching at The International School of Management (ISM).
He has taught entrepreneurship at universities around the world. In addition to ISM and Babson, he is an adjunct professor at the Harvard University Extension School. He also coaches executives on entrepreneurial leadership, corporate revitalization, and strategies for competitive advantage.
"There is no one more deserving than Professor Gordon," said Prof. Peter Horn, Chancellor of ISM. "We are extremely proud to have Professor Gordon, a distinguished scholar and respected educator, as a long-time member of our academic team. He is a conscientious and motivating educator and continually seeks to engage students on an individual level; leaving each one with meaningful and memorable information that they can apply to their particular business circumstances."
Gordon has had experience in many areas of entrepreneurship, education, public speaking and science. He holds a PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BS from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. After twelve years in research, development and management at Polaroid Corporation and Celanese Plastics Company, he pursued a career in entrepreneurship.
Gordon has founded five companies: a plastics injection molding company; a company that made products for the control of static electricity (Plastic Systems, Inc); a network for entrepreneurs and investors (the Venture-Preneurs Network); and a private investment and consulting firm (Quantum Ventures). His internet venture, AngelDeals.com, is a virtual global network that brings capital resources to emerging ventures.
He holds several patents and publications, and during his career in chemistry, he discovered a unique chemical reaction. Gordon has had teaching and speaking engagements throughout the U.S. and in Southeast Asia, Latin America and Europe.
Gordon is the author of Trump University Entrepreneurship 101 (Wiley; 2007), a one-of-a-kind guide to entrepreneurial success which shows how to identify opportunities, select the most promising options, and get a business up and running.
