Babson Teaches 'Teaching Entrepreneurship' To Ecuadorian University Faculty

Babson College will take its entrepreneurship expertise to the Universidad San Francisco de Quito, Ecuador, for a workshop October 5, 6, and 7th to help them develop curriculum for a new entrepreneurship center.

24 deans and faculty, including the president of the university, will participate in Babson’s first workshop to teach entrepreneurship in Latin America. The workshop was developed at Babson by the Asia Institute which has successfully presented programs in Niigata, Japan; Hong Kong; and Bangkok, Thailand.

According to Walter Esquivel, executive director of the Institute for Latin American Business (ILAB) at Babson, “the overall goal is to provide University San Francisco de Quito ideas that will support its design and development of an entrepreneurship curriculum, entrepreneurship courses and entrepreneurship center. More specifically, the workshop will provide to USF-Q attendees information based upon Babson’s three-decade experience in developing and maintaining its entrepreneurship program which is currently ranked number one in Entrepreneurship in the U.S. and/or worldwide by Business Week, the Financial Times, and U.S. News & World Report.”

Working collaboratively, the Asia Institute and ILAB will present workshops led by professors Abdul Ali, entrepreneurship & marketing; Leslie Charm, entrepreneurship; Robert Eng, marketing, and Executive Director of the Asia Institute.
