Babson College has achieved reaffirmation of accreditation of its bachelor's/master's degree programs in business administration by recent action of the Board of Directors of AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
To achieve accreditation, business programs must satisfy the expectations of a wide range of quality standards relating to strategic management of resources, interactions of faculty and students in the educational process, and achievement of learning goals in degree programs. These standards are mission-linked. During the accreditation process, Babson was visited and evaluated by business school deans with detailed knowledge of management education, applying accreditation standards that are widely accepted in the educational community.
AACSB commended Babson for the following strengths and effective practices:
1. Babson College has established an unrivaled international brand in entrepreneurship education;
2. The faculty are to be commended for their dedication to the education of their students. This dedication was evident in sessions with faculty, staff, and students;
3. Both undergraduate and graduate students expressed praise for the practical experience brought into the classroom by many of Babson’s professors;
4. The College has shown itself to be innovative in the development of its curricula, as evidenced by a 2006-07 redesign entitled Incorporating Ethical Perspectives into a Decision Making Framework. This program was developed and implemented.
Said Provost Patricia Greene: “We are please to receive reaffirmation of accreditation from the AACSB. I would like to thank the faculty, the students, the staff, and all supporters of the business programs at Babson College for making Babson the special place that it is.”
