Babson’s Shubert and Foley to Speak at The Conference Board’s Women’s Leadership Conference in New York City, NY on April 21-22nd, 2009

Jan Shubert and Susan Foley of Babson College will address the annual Conference Board’s, Women’s Leadership Conference (WLC): Winning Strategies for Success to be held at the New York Marriott Downtown, New York, NY on April 21st, 2009.

The WLC conference is a meeting of senior executive women and women leaders across industry segments. http://www.conference-board.org/conferences/conference.cfm?id=1793

Shubert and Foley will discuss Intrapreneurs – Key to Company and Professional Growth.

The session will explore the characteristics of successful intrapreneurs and professionals who are able to demonstrate entrepreneurial skills while still operating in a corporate environment. Participants will look at how they can identify these skills in themselves and others, ways they can use these skills more effectively, and why these skills are particularly important in today’s challenging economic climate.

Participants will also complete their own entrepreneurial skills and identify opportunities to enhance their capabilities as intrapreneurs.

“Internal entrepreneurship is the most exciting new leadership opportunity for talented women and the organizations that support them,” said Dr. Janelle Shubert, Director of the Center for Women’s Leadership, Babson College.

Susan Foley, Executive Director, Research Centers, Babson Executive Education (BEE), and Founder of Corporate Entrepreneurs LLC, further adds, “Most organizations are missing significant growth opportunities because they are not harnessing the most able business builders they’ve got – their intrapreneurs.”
